Rita Moreno
Moreno (born Rosita Dolores Alverío in
Humacao, Puerto
Rico) moved with her mother to New
York City at the age of five. When she was 11 years old, she
lent her voice to Spanish-language versions of American
films. She had her first
Broadway
role (Angelina in Skydrift) by the time she was 13, which
caught the attention of Hollywood
talent scouts. She played a small role in Singin'
in the Rain as a silent screen vamp but disliked most of
her other work during this period.[2]

Myrna Salazar
Myrna Salazar, born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico came to Chicago at age ten. She takes great pride in her Latino heritage and being a product of both, Westtown/Humboldt Park and the Chicago Public School system.
Presently, Myrna is the Director of Resource Development & Marketing for The International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago, a Pan-Latino nonprofit multidisciplinary arts organization.
Prior to joining the ILCC, she was the founder and President of Salazar & Navas, Inc., a talent and integrated media services firm which represented professional union talent,. Salazar & Navas, Inc. was instrumental in creating opportunities and breakthroughs for Latinos in the film and fashion industry in Chicago for nearly twenty-five years.

Cynthia Olavarria (2007)
Born in the Santurce,
district of San
Juan, Puerto
Rico, Olavarría was an expressive, and eloquent child.
Those qualities made her embark in the world of beauty pageants,
hosting and modeling since she was a teenager.
At 11, she won her first beauty pageant, Miss Reina Infantil, that
led her to became the host of the famous Puerto Rican game show
"Contra el Reloj con Pacheco".
She went to La Piedad High School in Isla
Verde. There, she was an honor student and member of many school
organizations, including the National
Honor Society and the Student's Council. In 2004, she graduated
Magna Cum Laude from University
of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus with a Bachelor's
Degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism.

Nadine Velazquez (2007)
Chicago born and raised, this native Puerto Rican Latina from Bucktown
West, has never left her roots. The middle of three daughters “We
learned to terrorize my father.”
At 13, walked into a Latino owned Chicago talent agency and was
asked to return with my mother, which I did, not knowing five years
later I would be hired by the same agency as an assistant
to one of the agency partners, while furthering my studies at Columbia
College in Chicago.

Veronica Zepeda (2007)
Discovered through Chicago based Talent agency "Salazar and
Navas", fifteen years ago, Veronica got her shot in the industry
by participating in Nuestra Belleza Internacional. Soon after, she
realized that through modeling and acting, she would not only find
her inner strenghts, but also achieve, accomplish, and enjoy experiences
that would mold her into the woman she is today.
